• Dr Png Keng Siang has experience in over 200 cases of robotic prostatectomy, and is competent in treating advanced prostate cancer with standard and novel forms of hormone therapy.
• He is proficient in robot-assisted operations using the da Vinci surgical platform for prostate cancer (robotic prostatectomy), kidney cancer (robotic partial nephrectomy), bladder cancer (robotic cystectomy), pelviureteric junction obstruction (robotic pyeloplasty) and other reconstructive robotic operations.
• He completed a fellowship in minimally invasive and robotic surgery at Indiana University in the USA.
• Dr Png was formerly the programme director of the National Healthcare Group Urology Residency Program from 2013 – 2018.
• He was a member of the Ministry of Health Technology Assessment Committee (RAS) in 2015, and was subsequently appointed as the only urologist in the workgroup advising the Ministry of Health on robotic surgery matters in 2018.
• He was the founding life member and honorary secretary of Robotic Surgery Society of Singapore from 2016, and the urology chairman of the inaugural Asian Summit on Robotic Surgery 2018. He is a member of the Society of Urological Robotic Surgeons (USA), and international member of the American Association.
• He participates actively in academic and policy developments of robot-assisted surgery in Singapore, and held the position of Chairman Robotic Review Committee from 2014 – 2018 in Tan Tock Seng Hospital, overseeing the accreditation of all robotic surgeons and development of the robotic programme in the hospital.
• Dr Png has also chaired several masterclasses in robotic surgery and shared his experience and surgical videos at both local and international conferences. He reviews manuscripts and surgical videos regularly for the peer-reviewed Journal of Endourology and Journal of Videourology.
