- Dr Kok graduated with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in Singapore. He was subsequently awarded the Master of Medicine in Family Medicine (Singapore), and the Postgraduate Diploma of Palliative Medicine (Cardiff, UK). In 2004-05, under the Ministry of Health’s HMDP programme, Dr Kok spent a year in advanced training in Palliative Medicine in Melbourne, Australia.
- Before joining Parkway Cancer Centre, Dr Kok was a Consultant in Dover Park Hospice, and a Visiting Consultant in the Department of Haematology-Oncology, National University Hospital.
- Dr Kok has extensive experience in palliative care, being one of the pioneer members of the Palliative Medicine Subspecialty Training Committee, appointed by the Specialists Accreditation Board, Ministry of Health, to oversee the training of Palliative Medicine Specialists in Singapore. He is also a Clinical Tutor with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical and nursing training in palliative care. He was the immediate past Chairman of the Training & Research Committee, Singapore Hospice Council, and the Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Singapore Palliative Care Conference 2008.
