• Dr Chong Kian Tai is proficient in using the da Vinci System, a robotic surgical system for complex robotic cancer surgery.
• His professional expertise also covers traditional open and advanced laparoscopic keyhole methods in urology and oncology surgery.
• Dr Chong received the prestigious full-time clinical Urologic Oncology Fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) in New York, USA.
• Prior to starting private practice, Dr Chong was an educator, researcher and innovator. He was appointed as an adjunct assistant professor at National University of Singapore and co-director of urologic oncology at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH).
• Dr Chong was the former director of research in the department of urology at TTSH. His research interests include biomolecular cancer targets, precision medicine, nanoparticle therapy, bioimaging in molecular diagnosis of tumour, and development of novel biomedical devices.
• Led by a vision to advocate holistic care for urological cancer patients, Dr Chong took up several positions at TTSH. He served as the chairman of the urology cancer multidisciplinary tumour board, chairman of the urology cancer support programme, chairman of the Urology-Advance Care Planning (Uro-ACP) team, and chairman of the hospital’s prostate cancer support group.
