- Dr Chew Huck Chin completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at the National University of Singapore in 1999. He then obtained his Master of Medicine in emergency medicine and became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK in 2003.
- After training in emergency medicine at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH), he further obtained his Master of Medicine in internal medicine and became a member of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom in 2004. He then underwent a dual specialty training in respiratory medicine and intensive care medicine at SGH. He was awarded the European Diploma in Intensive Care in 2009.
- Dr Chew He was formerly the supervisor of the Respiratory Therapy Department at SGH. He was also an executive committee member and the treasurer of the Society of Emergency Medicine of Singapore, as well as the treasurer for the Society of Intensive Care Medicine of Singapore. In addition, he was appointed to the Sengkang General Hospital’s pro tem committee and the clinical service planning committee.
- Dr Chew is an adjunct assistant professor at the Duke-NUS Medical School and a clinical senior lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS. He has conducted courses in the fields of critical care ultrasound, mechanical ventilatory support and critical care simulation. He was also part of the organising committee for the advanced ventilatory workshop for the Society of Intensive Care Medicine of Singapore and Australia and New Zealand Intensive Care Society conference in 2013.
- Dr Chew’s research interests include cardiac arrhythmias (abnormal heartbeat), measurement of cardiac indices in critically ill patients, severe asthma and pneumothorax (collapsed lung). He has been involved in several local and regional clinical trials, and has published in various international journals, such as CHEST, Journal of Resuscitation, European Journal of Emergency Medicine and American Journal of Emergency Medicine. He is also an invited reviewer for the Journal of Respirology and Singapore Medical Journal
