Background
- Dr Chan graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree in 1981 and obtained her Masters of Medicine (Paediatrics), Singapore, in 1986. She was conferred a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree by NUS for her thesis on cardiac dysrhythmias in children in 1996. Dr Chan received her sub-specialty training in paediatric cardiology from Royal Brompton & National heart Lung Hospital in London, UK where she was clinical research fellow and honorary registrar, and The Hospital for Sick Children, University of Toronto, where she was a clinical fellow.
- Prior to entering private practice, Dr. Chan was a Consultant Paediatrician and Senior Lecturer with the Department of Paediatrics and the National University Hospital. Her extensive research on paediatric cardiology has been published widely in a number of local and international medical journals. She now provides specialist care in neonatology, general ambulatory paediatrics and paediatric cardiology, for which she has wide experience with non-invasive diagnostic and interventional therapeutic procedures.
